The Post-Holiday Detox

So we just got back from a 10 day trip to California. We're exhausted. It's truly amazing how jet-lagged you can get in just 10 days. As a bonus though the girls have slept until 9 almost every morning since being back on Memphis time.

We started in LA and made our way to San Diego to visit an old college-mate of mine who I haven't seen in 4 years. She and her gorgeous babies met us at Chick-fil-A the day after we landed. We then visited Sea World and the Zoo before heading back to LA for 3 days of Disneyland.

I will just say, I LOVED DISNEYLAND! I believe it's so much better than DisneyWorld if you have young children. (Mine are 6 and 4) The rides are quicker, the lines are shorter, the characters are more accessible, the weather is better, the park is laid out more efficiently, and the shade offered by additional  umbrellas, tarps, and foliage was a welcome bonus. It is a bit more expensive per ticket and still cheaper to buy packaged tickets. We bought a 3 day park hopper and paid about 50 more per person for the tickets.

The flight was a 3.5 hour direct from Memphis so it was pretty easy...other that the truly horrible man sitting in front of my youngest. Every time she even slightly touched his seat he would turn around and give either Garry or me a dirty look. So naturally, I switched my eldest to sit behind him. This did help but he still had an awful attitude.

Needless to say Garry had words with him at the baggage claim. He told him kids were just a part of flying coach and if he didn't like it he needed to switch to first class. Usually I don't condone this type of in-your-face confrontation but this guy deserved it. Just a horrible human being. I have to admit I contemplated kicking his seat myself just to make him mad.

I digress...No news on the adoption. We haven't heard anything since being asked for the additional information 4 weeks ago. BG is back to doing what BG does best...being silent.

16 months we've been registered for those keeping tabs.

Oh and the (sorta) sad news for the time is that our 5 year old betta (fish) Winston died. Lily was a bit upset but as soon as Garry told her she could have another fish and put it in her room she was fine.
